Summer Reading List
Today I wanted to share a few of my favourite books with you, hoping this will inspire you to take up a book or two this summer. Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. I have always been an avid reader and to be honest it was forced on me as a child however today it’s something I quite enjoy. Gone are the days when reading was limited to having a physical copy of a book there are audio books and app like wattpad that makes keeping up with your reading list that much easier.I will always prefer having the physical book though audio books do have there advantages. Here are a few of my favourite books.

Weekend Recap 3
Hi guys I hope june has been treating you well so far.I also hope that you are excited, for the summer months I will be posting twice weekly. One will be my summer feature, where to go what to do.Basically a how to optimise your summer guide . Now on to the meat of the matter. The other night I went out with a few members of my dance group, and we had a blast.Funny story the headband I wore had dry rotted. The last time I wore it was around my birthday last year. Here how I fixed it. I cut a thin stip out of an old panty hose (stocking) and I tied it to each end of the metal frame it held it in place and blended with my hair. So the next time you are in a similar predicament grab some stockings. For our night out the dress code was maxi heres what I came up with.

| St Thomas Jamaica |
Learn something new. What is it that you wish you could do, but you are not sure how to do it? Now is the perfect time to learn for me I will dedicating a few hours a week to improve my French.
Over the past couple of months Kingston Jamaica has seen a diversification of entertainment options and I am very excited, for instance I have never been bowling, I fully intend to change that this summer .There are a few other places on my to visit list. It doesn't have to be somewhere new or expensive. Also if you have nieces, nephews or younger siblings take them a long and get some bonding time in as well.

Advice to Transitioners
Going natural is definitely trending, having been on this journey for the past year and a half I believe I have some insight that may be helpful. The first and most valuable lesson I have learnt is have a plan.If you want to go natural know exactly what you are going to do with your hair. That can be anything ,from getting braids ,doing the big chop ect, I failed on my first attempt because I just didn't know what to do to my hair.
Secondly you cannot use every single product, slow and steady wins the race.If you decide to grow your hair out your priority will not be curls or length at first. Healthy hair should be your goal as a result your focus should not be on styling rather you should try to focus on creating and maintaining a routine. This routine first must be about the process wash ,deep condition and moisturize. Once you've formulated a routine you can then seek products to assist.

Afro's And Neon
To think that not too long ago I could not understand why people wore shift dress. I stand her today telling you that this dress made me a convert(thanks sis).I had no intention of blogging this outfit but based on the response I decided to. I felt very 70's the curly fro ,neon shift dress and the bright clutch really finished off this look.A shift dress is perfect for those days when its quite hot and you rather wear something thats not clingy (everyday here).I find that they are perfect when you are in a hurry this one in particular comes with a faux necklace, ready to go.

The decathlon called life
So the first half of 2015 has come and gone.Where are you now? I hope you are still working toward those goals you made at the beginning of the year . If not.... why? Even if you dropped off you can get back up.The last couple of months have been rough for me ,many disappointment but still I press.I want this post to encourage someone to get up an keep going. Anything worth having will not come easy. I like to view obstacles as preparation for the future. For me life is a decathlon, the only difference is that we are not sure what test we will get, like a goody bag of challenges, our challenges I like to think are tied to our goals and personalities. In that if you are impatient you will be tested to help you improve that. But I encourage you remain committed to your goals after all aren't you the one who set those goals. If you want good you nose affi run a Jamaican proverb that simply means that success demands hard work. Strive to be disciple , remain focus and prioritise. What may seem like the best option today may not be the best thing in the long run. Don't be short sighted.with that I wish you all a productive week.

Black & Grey
Hello, I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend. Last weekend I had the pleasure of assisting a friend with a project I absolutely loved the images and I decided to share them with you.During the shoot I was reminded of how extremely awkward I can be and that I need to learn asap how to pose because I was quite embarrassed when I was told to do something else, my mind went instantly blank.
I loved my outfit very basic and yet cute , the speckled Gray cardigan I purchased years ago is a favourite of mine it comes down to my waist and it has the cutest board buttons and pockets, my black dress is another fav I love body con clothing .... I just do but I love to drape something loose over close fitting clothing. I added a black and gold statement necklace to add a little flair to the look and my nude slippers because they are my go tos.

Healthy Hair Journey #2: Curls
It's been about a year since I've been on this transitioning journey and to date I have one go to style, the same style I had when my hair was relaxed.I am not sure where or when I stopped doing my curling techniques .I made an effort for the month march to weekly do one of the following.I hope you find it helpful.

Perm Rod Set
As you can see perm rods come in a wide variety of sizes and colours, the bigger the rod the looser the curl. There are tons of Instagram and Pinterst post as well as Youtube videos that explaining in great detail how to get this right.ONE HUGE TIP I'll give however ,do not do this on wet hair it takes forever to dry for best results start on dry hair with just enough product to set the style(don't drench the hair with products).
I know we all know this technique ,but I don't even know when I stopped doing this immediately after I washed my hair .But if you haven't in a while try it and see what you come up with.Twist outs work out much better for me and I often add Perm rods to the ends to achieve my desired look.
