Transitioning Journey Part 3

Perm rod set (last weekend)
In October 2014 I started using a few products to assist with my transitioning Journey , Today  I wanted to give a bit of an update on  my journey.  I stuck with majority of the products used at the beginning ,with the exception of my shampoo &  conditioners. I loved the Shea moisture transitioning kit, however, I want to try different shampoos and conditioners mainly to see what suits me best. I decided to try out TRESemme to find out what all the buzz was about and for  deep conditioner Queen Helen and Organic's (I read good reviews and they are both very reasonable) .This is actually my second or third time using the hair mayonnaise from  organics , my initial experience  was  back in high school . I chose  the TRESemme  climate control conditioner .

The decathlon called life

So  the first half of 2015 has come and gone.Where are you now? I hope you  are still working toward those goals you made at the beginning of the year . If  not.... why? Even if you dropped off you can get back up.The last couple of months have been rough for me ,many disappointment but still I press.I want this post to   encourage someone to get up an keep going. Anything worth having  will not come easy. I like to view obstacles as preparation for the future. For me life is a decathlon, the only difference is that we are not sure what test we will get, like a goody bag of challenges, our challenges  I like to think are tied to our goals and personalities. In that if you are impatient you will be tested to help you improve that. But I encourage you remain committed to your goals after all aren't you the one who  set those goals. If you want good you nose affi run a Jamaican proverb that simply means that success demands hard work. Strive to be disciple , remain focus and prioritise. What may seem like the best option today may not be the best thing in the long run. Don't be short sighted.with that I wish you all a productive week.

Black & Grey

Hello, I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend. Last weekend I had the pleasure of assisting a friend with a project I absolutely loved the images and I decided to share them with you.During the shoot I was reminded of how extremely awkward I can be and  that I  need to learn asap how to pose because I was quite embarrassed when I was told to do something else, my mind went instantly blank.
I loved my outfit very basic and yet cute , the speckled  Gray cardigan I purchased years ago is a favourite of mine it comes down to my waist and it has the cutest board buttons and pockets, my black dress is another fav I love body con clothing .... I just do but I love to drape something loose over close fitting clothing. I added a black and gold statement necklace to add a little flair to the look and my nude slippers because they are my go tos.

Healthy Hair Journey #2: Curls

It's been about a year since I've been on this transitioning journey and to date I have one go to style, the same style I had when my hair was relaxed.I am not sure where or when I stopped doing  my curling techniques .I made an effort for  the month march to weekly do one of the following.I hope you find it helpful.

Perm Rods & Natural Hair: Which Size Will Create Your Desired Look?
Perm Rod Set
Perm rod curl sizes. I love this easy and quick visual to clearly see which size perm rods will deliver the results that you want.
As you can see perm rods  come in a wide variety of sizes and colours, the bigger the rod the looser the curl. There are tons of Instagram and Pinterst post as well as Youtube videos that explaining in great detail how to get this right.ONE HUGE TIP I'll give however ,do not do this on wet hair it takes forever to dry  for best results start on dry hair with just enough product to set the style(don't drench the hair with products).

I know we all know this technique ,but I  don't even know when I stopped doing this immediately after I washed my hair .But if you haven't in a while try it and see what you come up with.Twist outs work out much better for me and I often add Perm rods to the ends to achieve my desired look.

Style Journal : Personal Style

What is style really. What is it that draws us to some pieces and away from other.Well in my opinion there are  many factors that influence the way we choose to dress. Despite the reasoning behind the  choice, often time we all have the same motive. We want to look good, after all when we look good we feel good. Who doesn't love being told they have an awesome sense of style, or that someone would have pleasure raiding their closets. I think I am at a place currently where I like my sense of style, I feel comfortable in what I wear (most of the times) and it may not be everybody's cup of tea but it surely is mine today I decided that I would share some of my favorite looks with you. I enjoying searching through outfits on pintrest ,i am very sure im not alone.Enjoy.

Style Journal: Style Inspiration

So its a new season for some of us,Spring is generally a time of clearing out the old and starting a fresh. This is generally the time also that people try to revamp their style. This may seem like a stressful and expensive process but it doesn't necessarily have to be. Simple adjustments  can make an huge differences.

1. From T's to Button down/ Blouse

So not too long ago I decided to make this switch ,I have not stopped wearing T shirts completely  however I now limit the times and occasion  where I wear T shirts instead I wear a button down shirt or a blouse and I honestly feel more presentable and grown(yes grown), after all I am a young lady and I want to look like one (most of the time :).

Few of my Favorite Things #2 Hair Care

The braids are out, yet again so i'm back to contending  with my hair,March 2014 was the last time I had  a relaxer, so its been about a year that I've been on this natural  hair journey. I've definitely learnt a few tips and tricks along the way.Today I will share a few things that I have used I  use in my hair care routine.

Image result for rosemary

Rosemary
Rosemary is a herb that is often used for making tea or seasoning food. in addition to its culinary purposes it can be used in hair and skin care. in recent months.I have done a rosemary wash twice before installing my Senegalese twist in the end of January and right after taking it out about a week ago.Rosemary has been used for centuries as a cure for hair loss and to treat scalp,it is a excellent clarifying wash.I know one issue I've faced is product build up.I no longer use sulfate shampoo as they dry out my hair.In order to ensure that my hair and scalp is thoroughly clean I have decided to use rosemary monthly as a clarifying wash.
