Shea Moisture Repair and Transition Kit Review
I have been using the kit since mid November. As I am almost finish with most of the products I believe that this is the perfect time to do a review. Before purchasing the kit I did some research.I wanted something that would make my hair manageable through the transitioning process. I came across quite a few products I however wanted something that had a variety of products so I started researching kits .The end result was purchasing this product at Earth Element also available at Nettle and Moss.
The kit contains four 4 oz bottles:
1. Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner
2.Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo
3.Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque
4.Raw Shea Butter Reconstructive Finishing Elixir
The Restorative conditioner
Undoubtedly my favorite product from the kit ,The most pleasant scent of all the product, in addition to the scent I liked the conditioner over all, it left my hair soft and manageable.I use it as a wash out and a leave in, Shea Moisture products are all natural therefore you can use wash out conditioner as a leave in and it will not damage your hair .
Moisture Retention Shampoo
Still getting use to not having mega suds ,it is sulfate free , all natural. Being new to all natural hair and skin care I am still getting use to a few things as a result i'm on the fence about the shampoo,it did not dry my hair out which is a plus however I feel the need to use a large amount of the product as well as to shampoo my hair several times so as to ensure that it is indeed cleaning my scalp. Not that it doesn't clean my scalp but as I said new to sulfate free shampoos.
Deep Treatment Masque, I love the masque, I think it does the job,I have been deep conditioning my hair for as long as I can remember the only difference this time around is it is being done on a weekly basis. My mother use to deep condition my hair with aloe vera and or tuna(cactus looking plant) and castor oil when it was time for me to take care of my hair I kept up with aloe vera, haven't seen tuna in years. As a result of this I add product to the masque such as castor oil ,coconut oil honey and such .
Reconstructive Finishing Elixir,on to my least favorite product I knew I would not like this from the onset. It looked like a heavy greasy ,drip down my neck oil, and I hate those and it turned out to be just that.I live in Jamaica eternal summer and as such heavy products tend to run when I perspire.I have used it quite frequently but I would not purchase the Elixir on its own.It does a good job at adding shine to curls and sealing however I prefer castor oil or coconut oil for that.
I do hope that this review was helpful.
Until next time....
