Transitioning Hair Regiment Part 2

Healthy relaxed hair June 2013
Healthy hair is not about products, it is a combination of products and practices that compliment each other and aid in the growth strengthening and maintenance of your hair. Last week I introduced the range of products I have been using on my hair. This week i"ll look at some of the practices I have adopted.
  • Firstly I have started using a wide tooth comb in addition to this I have  been using water on my hair before I apply any product.
  • I have also established a time table which stipulates when  I wash and deep condition , for me planning  a specific time  helps me immensely. I use to wash my hair every other week and deep condition when I felt like.Structure is important in any journey. Therefore to ensure that you keep up I encourage stetting up a schedule not only for washing and treating but also protective style , when you'll get them how long it will last etc. I repeat structure is important especially when transitioning if you fail to plan you may end up getting a relaxer like I did in my first attempt.
  • Also know your hair needs everyone hair is different build a regiment around your specific needs.
  • Wear styles that do not overly strain edges or require frequent manipulation.
  •  Less heat, less is definitely more in this case, less heat more growth more length retention.
  • cover hair at night, what every state your hair is in relaxed or natural always wear a head tie or bonnet.
  • Be patient , remember its a journey its going to take some time to get there.
  • Access periodically . are the products and practices being used getting me to my goal? if not go back to the drawing board.
I wish you all the luck on your hair journey. Also these are just a few tips feel free to do your own research or follow my hair journey board on Pinterest.

  3. @ Candace its part of the loc method liquid oil cream ........ This help to retain moisture, basically apply water before oil and cream holds the other product in the hair longer. You dont have to use just water though you can use products that are water based or aloe vera gel same result
