Team Natural

Sixteen months ago I embarked on this natural hair Journey,I would be a terrible person if I give the impression that it has been a  flower and rainbow sort of experience. These days there are countless blog post and videos dedicated to this journey whether you opt to do a big chop or transition you can find helpful and relevant insight all over the web.Everyone experience is different  however and as such I try to share my experience. There are days when I look at pictures of my healthy, bouncy relaxed hair and think what have I done, then there are other days when I marvel at my  hair in its current state. For me natural hair provides versatility. I can go curly, straight , wavy, rock a fro the option are truly endless,  However it takes some time and practice but once you get the hang of it you will be on your way.

The most important thing I think in this journey is also a simple but important life principle ,Comparison is the theft of joy. Do not compare your hair or your journey to others. from as early as possible try to develop your own way. Do take inspirations from others but avoid trying to completely copy someone techniques and the products they use.
Be objective do not use products or do styles simply because, monitor how a product or a style affects your hair then decide if it worth using or doing it again.(if you have thin edges braids may not be your best option and you may need to add Jamaican black castor oil to your routine).
Have a routine , this does not have to be filled with two million steps and ten bagillion product simply does it.An oil , a styler /gel, shampoo, condition is enough you can always add thing. I am yet to purchase a curling or defining product. I do not have a wash and go routine  Its a process one that is filled with trial and error.

My biggest advice is to do your research and take it a step at a time. In the early stages if you are transitioning try out protective styles and slowly get yourself in a routine. At the end of the day it is a personal thing and you have to seek to find ways and products that work for you .I hope you found this information helpful until next time .......
